Erin Lee Creative Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m super excited to be participating in the Erin Lee Creative Blog Hop. The design team is sharing wonderful projects and I have created two cards, using the Koko Girl Cocoa Stamp and dies, Aztec Background Stamp and the Be Brave Word Die.

Let’s start! For my first project I created a shaker card. I stamped the Koko girl onto Nennah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lbs. using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder.

I decided to use blue and yellow as my color combination and I colored the image using Copic markers.

Then, using the matching die I die cut a piece of white cardstock that I trimmed down a little bit smaller than an A2 panel. I applied a shadow of yellow ink from Altenew using one of the smallest Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence Studios.

I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and placed a piece of acetate at the back of the cardstock.

Next, I glued on top of a white card base a yellow patterned paper. Then, I added the Koko girl panel using double sided tape. Additionally, I put foam tape around the image and poured a few sequins.

Finally, I closed the shaker placing the white panel with the acetate on top and added a few yellow sequins on top.

For my next card, I stamped the Aztec Background stamp onto white cardstock using WOW! Embossing Pad and heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Gold embossing powder.

Then, I colored the image using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

Next, I adhered this background to a black piece of cardstock using double sided tape. Then, placed it on top of a white card base.

For the sentiment, I added a piece of double sided paper to a piece of cardstock. I applied WOW! Teal Fab Foil on top and then run it through my die cutting machine using the Be Brave Word Die. I repeated the same process without adding the double sided paper and using black foam.

Finally, to create a shadow I glued the foiled sentiment on top of the black foam die cut and placed it on the card using more glue.

These were my two projects for this awesome blog hop. I hope you like them and get some inspiration. Don’t forget that Erin Lee Creative is having a 40% off everything at the shop (excluding new release). There are wonderful stamps and really great deals for you!

  1. These are wonderful cards, Karen. I really enjoy your card with a girl. The bright yellow blending around the shaker creates such a beautiful frame and works perfectly with the yellow details of the image!

  2. Karen, both cards are awesome! I like how the first is a shaker,, with the image behind, and the great yellow shadow around the die cut opening. On the second, love how you gave the “brave” a shadow. Great job!
