Butterflies Birthday Wishes | Julie Hickey Designs

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing these two birthday cards featuring the Layering Flutterbies Stamp & Die Set from Julie Hickey Designs and for my sentiment I have Birthday Best Wishes Stamp Set also by Julie Hickey Designs. Julie, the owner of Julie Hickey Designs, was so kind to sent me these products and I have to be honest, I’m having so much fun playing with her stamps and dies. I love that most of her stamp sets already come with the matching die, isn’t that awesome? I totally recommend everyone this brand. If you have a chance please check her account on Instagram @juliehickeydesings.

Let’s begin! I started by die cutting the three butterflies from the Layering Flutterbies Stamp dies and I placed the the negative part in the MISTI. I will be using this negative part to align the stamps with the die cuts. Then, I place back the three die cuts inside the negative part and I stamp with white ink the teal butterflies using the Layering Flutterbies Stamp.

I repeat this process but this time I stamp the turquoise butterflies with WOW! Embossing Pad and then I heat embossed them using WOW! Metallic Brass Embossing Powder.

Next, I die cut a rectangular frame out of a light blue cardstock, which will be my card base. Using the Birthday Best Wishes Stamp Set I stamped and heat embossed on this card base with WOW! Metallic Brass Embossing Powder. Then, I adhered a white folded notecard at the back using glue.

Finally, I added the butterflies die cuts on top of the background using foam tape for more dimension. I trimmed down the edges and also added some jewels for the perfect last touch.

My second card was made following the same process.

I changed the placement for my sentiment on this card and for more contrast within the butterflies I used gray cardstock that was heat embossed using WOW! Metallic Brass Embossing Powder. The other color of cardstock for the butterflies was fuchsia and I stamped on them with white ink.

Again, as my last touch I added these jewels that I think were just perfect for this background.

I hope you liked these cards and try Julie Hickey Designs products. They have a great quality and wonderful designs too. Thanks for stopping by and have a phenomenal day!

Ink Repeating | My Sweet Petunia

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing this card over My Sweet Petunia Blog. I’m using Layering Flutterbies Stamp & Die Set from Julie Hickey Designs and for my sentiment I have Signature Thinking of You Stamp & Die Set also by Julie Hickey Designs.

For this card I have a mix of a ink repeating technique and blending inks with mini daubers. The sponge from the daubers also gave some texture to the blending which is awesome. The inks used on this card are from Catherine Pooler Designs.

Let’s begin! I started by placing a silhouette of one of the butterflies on an A2 panel. I begun stamping from bottom to top. Then, using a dauber I applied three different inks to the silhouette stamp. The inks from Catherine Pooler Designs that I used are Aquatini, Lime Rickey and Something Borrowed.

I stamped each butterfly silhouette and repeated the process of ink blending each time. Next, I stamped the outline of the corresponding butterfly using white ink.

Additionally, I die cut the Signature Thinking of You Die and placed the negative part in the MISTI. I put the die cut inside the negative part and stamped the Signature Thinking of You Stamp and heat embossed it with WOW! Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder.

I die cut the Signature Thinking of You Die two more times and glued them behind the white heat embossed die cut. Next, I stamped the sentiment “Special Friend” from Friendship Flower Stamp set from Julie Hickey Designs.

Finally, I trimmed just a bit one side of this panel and then I added a white folded notecard at the back using glue. Last, I placed the white heat embossed die cut on top of the background and I also adhered a strip of teal cardstock at one side and this card was finished.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Ho Ho Ho Christmas card using the new Mini Misti

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing this Christmas card featuring the new Mini Misti that has been recently released. I love the size of this Mini Misti and I used it a lot! The two background stamps that I used on this card fit perfectly inside this Mini Misti which for me was a plus! The stamps and dies for today’s card are from Pinkfresh Studios and Taylored Expressions.

Let’s begin! I started by placing the Pinkfresh Studio Winterberry Background Cling Stamp inside the Mini Misti and stamped onto a kind of mustard color of cardstock with WOW! Embossing Pad and then heat embossed this panel using WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. In the picture below you can see how the cling stamp fits inside the Mini Misti.

Then, I stamped the Christmas Simple Strips Stamp by Taylored Expressions using Catherine Pooler Uniper Mist and I die cut the sentiments with the Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Dies. These sentiments are my favorites for being so easy to make a bunch in a wink. and Again, as you can see in the picture below the Christmas Simple Strips Stamp fits perfectly inside de Mini Misti.

Now, I will add color to those leaves and berries in the background using R14 Copic marker and the blue shade from the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Gem Colors. Additionally, I adhered a white folded notecard at the back of this panel using glue.

To create the HO HO HO words I die cut the Pinkfresh Studio Lea’s Ornate Lowercase and Uppercase Dies out of two shades of pinks, one lighter and one darker. I Die cut three times each letter and then glued them together for more dimension.

I also Die cut a tag out of vellum using the Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Classic Tags and added it to the center of my background. I placed the HO HO HO words on top of this velum tag using glue.

Finally, I added a piece of blue-white twine to the tag and placed a strip sentiment on top using glue and this card was finished. I love the look of this non-traditional Christmas card, hope you like it too. I wish you a wonderful day and see you next time!

MISTI and Dare2BArtzy Blog Hop Collaboration

Hello crafty friends! Today MISTI has teamed up with Dare 2B Artzy for this fabulous Blog Hop Collaboration full of inspiration and a GIVEAWAY just for you.

GIVEAWAY

Both companies are giving a $20 gift card to each store and a coupon code FALL10 for 10% off purchases from 10/29 – 11/8 (excludes sale items). So please leave a comment on each blog post to enter this awesome giveaway! And Good Luck!

Let’s start! I have created two cards for this blog hop, one slimline and one A2 panel. The stamps and dies are Honey Bear and Buzzy Beez. You can combine these two stamps because they match perfectly.

I placed all stamps inside the MISTI and stamped them using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and I colored them with Copic markers. Before die cutting, I placed my sheet inside the MISTI again to stamp one more time and get those black outlines more define. Next, I proceeded to die cut all images using the coordinating dies.

I die cut the slimline panel and additionally I die cut a circle right in the center of it. I applied Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink in two ends of the panel using a Life Changing Blender Brush. Then I adhered a black slimline notecard at the back of this panel using foam tape.

The circle I die cut from the center of the slimline panel was colored with Speckled Egg and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks using Life Changing Blender Brushes. Then, I inserted this die cut in the center of the panel using glue.

I die cut the honeycomb out of orange cardstock four times and arranged them along with all the other images at the top, middle and bottom part of the panel using glue and foam tape.

I also, placed another piece of cardstock inside the MISTI and stamped all the sentiments, then I adhered them to the background with foam tape and this card is done.

For my second card, I used a stencil to applied color to this panel. I used Speckled Egg and Curved Pumpkin Distress Oxide inks.

Next, I arranged all images around the panel using glue and foam tape.

Finally, I stamped all the sentiments using VersaFine Black Onyx ink and to do this I simply placed this panel inside the MISTI and stamped both sentiments and this card is finished.
